Sara Headshot | Aerial Dragonfly Movement Studio

Hammock, Silks & Lyra Instructor

Sara

Sara Duhaime discovered the aerial arts in 2011 and began her career as an aerial instructor in 2014. Since then, she has dedicated her time to developing herself as a performer and a coach. Forever a student, she has traveled near (and sometimes far) to train with talented coaches whenever possible. During her time as a coach, she has developed choreography classes on lyra, silks, and hammock. She has been a guest teacher at other studios in Michigan, Ohio, New York, and Wyoming. Her multidisciplinary training has lent itself to creative ways of adapting movement from one apparatus to another when creating content for classes and choreographing routines. Her favorite thing about the aerial arts is its built-in community.

Hi! I’m Sara Duhaime. I began my aerial arts training in 2011 and have been an instructor since 2014. Since then, I’ve dedicated my time to developing myself as a performer and coach. Forever a student, I’m always looking for new ways to challenge myself and expand my technical knowledge. During my time as a coach, I have developed choreography classes on lyra, silks, and hammock. I also have experience working on the aerial cube and sphere. In addition to my weekly classes, I’ve taught several workshops at other studios in Michigan, Ohio, New York, and Wyoming . My diverse aerial training has helped me find interesting ways of adapting movement from one apparatus to another when creating content for classes and choreographing routines. My favorite things about the aerial world are the supportive community and getting to connect with so many awesome, talented people.

Sara Duhaime has been teaching and performing in and around Detroit since 2014. Her distinctive choreography is the result of many hours spent adapting skills from one apparatus to another. It is her intention as a performer to find the balance between dynamic technique and musicality.
